Cheek Volume Enhancement with VolumaTM or SubQTM Treatment:

A characteristic sign of ageing is skin and subcutaneous tissue volume loss in the mid face.  Descent of the cheek fat can produce a heavier look to the lower face.

The lost volume can be replenished with Juvéderm Voluma™or SubQ™.This restores a youthful shape to the face by filling the inner and outer part of the upper cheeks. This also tends to lessen the effect of the downward pull of gravity on the facial skin.

The treatment can be performed as an outpatient procedure either with some topical anaesthetic cream  or  a  local anaesthetic injection to numb the cheek skin.

There is very little downtime associated with the procedure. Any bruising (usually minimal) and swelling may take a few days to settle.

The effect usually lasts for 9-12 months but can last for up to 18 months.

Loss of volume in the mid face can sometimes be associated with tear trough hollows and Juvéderm Voluma™or SubQ™ is an ideal treatment to combine with tear trough rejuvenation as in the examples below.

Dermal filler before

Before:

Cheek volume loss & asymmetric tear trough appearances

Dermal filler after

Immediately after:

VolumaTM to both cheeks and RestylaneTM to left tear trough

Dermal filler before

Before:

Tear trough & upper cheek hollows & undesirable fullness to lower face

Dermal filler after

2 weeks after:

SubQTM to upper cheeks & RestylaneTM to tear troughs

Nasolabial Fold filler treatment:

Cheek fat descent and loss of subcutaneous tissue as we age can deepen the nasolabial folds. Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler (e.g. Perlane™ or Juvéderm 4) can help restore volume and a more youthful appearance.

The effect usually lasts for 6-12 months but sometimes can last up to 18 months.

Lip volume enhancement:

The lips often lose volume with age. Some people have relatively thin lips and desire a subtle enhancement in the fullness of their lips. HA fillers such as Lipp™ and Juvéderm Smile are excellent at enhancing the fullness and shape of the lips.

The effect usually lasts for 6-12 months but sometimes can last up to 18 months.
